Another dreamy summer vibe hit. Jai Paul is an England native who’s voice sounds like a wall of sound mixed with a drum machine. Paul’s electronic hip hop drum kit and vocoded vocal style emphasizes his differing sound than what we are normally accustom to hearing out of the UK. When the keyboard player of Vampire Weekend and lead singer of Ra Ra Riot get together you know that shit is going down. Both Rostam Batmanglij of Vamp and Wes Miles of Ra Ra Riot have been working hard on a side project called Discovery that encompasses each of their unique musical styles by blending electronic synths, vocal distortions, and electro beats into one musical orgy that is unlike any other. Discovery can be compared to the likes of Hot Chip and Cut Copy. Discovery is set to release their highly anticipated album titled LP July, 7th in the US. Don’t take my word for it, sit back, listen and be amazed.
