Nostalgia

Here is a throw back joint from freshman year in college. Got me through some awesome moments. Maybe it will do the same for you… or at least entertain you for a few minutes.

Cut Copy – Lights and Music (Boys Noize mix)

Gypsy and The Cat

Honestly, I don’t know a lot about this band and I’m too hungover/drunk to look up their information. Bottomline is that they make good music. Check it.

Gypsy and The Cat – ‘Til Tomorrow

Gypsy and The Cat – The Pipers Song (Aeroplane Remix)

Taking this in a new direction.

Today I feel inspired to do something different. I know that people visit this blog for music purposes, hell I do that every morning when I wake up. Let’s go with the check down real quick:

-Wake up

-Shower

-Dress

-Brush Teeth

-Search for new music on the internetssss.

I digress. I am posting this to let you know that this is a blog by me, for you, BUT I am going to add a new personal element to my posts. This is a blog by ME after all so I figure I should tell you a little about myself as well as the music I have been digging lately.

Lately, I have noticed that I only listen to music that corresponds to my mood, thus this is the first post of a new era.

Your Challenge: Guess my mood.

N.E.R.D.- Hypnotize U

N.E.R.D.-Hypnotize U (Feat. Daft Punk) Nero Remix

Mash Mash Mash Ups & Remixs Y’all

Alright here are a few of my favorite mash ups and remixs as of late. Hope you guys enjoy.

Xaphoon Jones – Testify (Radiohead, Kanye West)

The Hood Internet – Billy Wildcat Jean

Notorious BIG Vs Miley Cyrus – Party and Bullshit in the USA

Skream – Chromeo Night by Night

High Contrast

Normally I don’t blog about DJ’s or Remixers but High Contrast has captured my attention. Perhaps he will too with his awesome edits and electronic drives. Check it. By far one of the BEST remixes to date.

Adele – Hometown Glory (High Contrast Remix)

The XX

Alright, after a long break from not posting, I am back in action with some NEW NEW music for y’all. Sorry about the wait and stay posted for a lot more new music. Anyways, to the good stuff – The XX has dropped there self-titled album and boy is it worth a listen. The vocals are what drew me in to begin with and the instrumentals finished the job. Many bands have intro tracks but nothing compares to The XX’s Intro. It sets the precedent for the album and songs to follow. Give it a listen, it’s worth your time.

The XX – Intro

The XX – Islands

La Roux

Alright Alright, I am jumping on this gravy train. La Roux has it going on, from her looks to her vox. It’s absolutely ridiculous that I refused to listen to her before today. Something I seriously regret. There is something about when people start remixing the shit out of an artist that just turns me off, but damn I have learned my lesson. Anyways, let the music speak for itself and rub in my stupidity. EnjoY!

La Roux – Bulletproof

La Roux – Armour Love

Miike Snow

No, it’s no typo just the name of a great synth-pop band who is continuing to do their thing on the music scene. The song Silvia is a great joint with everything that a successful pop song needs: A great chorus, great effects, a message, and last but not least emotion. These guy are really great and you should give them a listen.

Miike Snow – Silvia

Miike Snow – Animal

Remixxx

Here is a pretty sick remix of one of my favorite songs by M83. enjoY.

M83 – We Own The Sky (Udachi Remix)

LMFAO

The duo out of L.A. is definitely having fun with their music, with tracks titled I’m in Miami Bitch and Lil’ Hipster Girl it’s hard to not think of Saturday Night Live and Andy Samberg and JT’s pop duo but I assure you LMFAO is here to stay. With their new album titled Party Rock out this last Monday there is no doubt that the album title says it all. This is straight fun dance music. At times it can be funny, and other times it can be ruthless but non the less all awesome. With heavy electronic instrumentals this music is easily remixed and you will most likely find more remix’s and club mixes of their songs floating on the interweb than you will their original mixes. LMFAO is necessary to any individual that is on the new wave hip-hop movement and enjoys a bit of forward thinking sound and clever quips.

LMFAO – Lil’ Hipster Girl

LMFAO – What Happens At The Party

LMFAO – La La La (Terror Dactel Remix)
